If you\u2019re already familiar with WordPress, then most of this will be self-explanatory, but if you\u2019re new, this is the best place to start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don\u2019t feel like watching the video, written instructions are listed below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Setting Up Block-Based WordPress Themes\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/32DEnDJl65Y?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Install the Theme:<\/strong> Go to <strong>Themes<\/strong> under <strong>Appearances<\/strong> and click on \u201cAdd New&#8221; to upload your theme.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\"><li><strong>Activate Plugins:<\/strong> Once the theme is activated, you should get a popup notifying you which plugins need to be downloaded and activated. If you don\u2019t get a popup, simply click on <strong>Install Plugins<\/strong> under <strong>Appearance<\/strong>. This theme requires the Little Homepage Blocks plugin. <em>(Note: If you&#8217;re activating WooCommerce, you&#8217;ll be automatically taken to a setup page. Just click &#8220;skip store setup&#8221; at the bottom to bypass it and be taken back to your dashboard.)<\/em><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\"><li><strong>Import Demo Content (optional):<\/strong> If you want to import demo content, make sure to activate the <strong>One Click Demo Import<\/strong> plugin in Step 2 and click on <strong>Import Demo Data<\/strong> under <strong>Appearance<\/strong> in your dashboard. For more information on importing, read<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/littlethemeshop.com\/documentation\/importing-demo-content\/\">Importing Demo Data.<\/a><\/strong> After importing, skip to Step 5.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"4\"><li><strong>Set Up Homepage and Blog Page:<\/strong> If you skipped Step 3, you need to activate the homepage manually.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"4\"><li>Create two new pages by clicking on <strong>Pages<\/strong> and <strong>Add New.<\/strong> Name them anything, but in this example, we&#8217;ll name one \u201cMy Homepage\u201d and one \u201cBlog.\u201d<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"4\"><li>While editing the \u201cMy Homepage\u201d page you just created, in the right-hand menu look for <strong>Template<\/strong>. From the dropdown menu, select <strong>Homepage Blocks.<\/strong> Save.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-medium is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/littlethemeshop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Screen-Shot-2021-09-13-at-1.06.32-PM-475x600.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4566\" width=\"238\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/littlethemeshop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Screen-Shot-2021-09-13-at-1.06.32-PM-475x600.png 475w, https:\/\/littlethemeshop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Screen-Shot-2021-09-13-at-1.06.32-PM.png 568w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 238px) 100vw, 238px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"4\"><li>Next, go to <strong>Settings<\/strong> and click on <strong>Reading.<\/strong> From here, click on \u201cA static page\u201d under \u201cYour homepage displays.\u201d For \u201cHomepage,\u201d select the homepage page you just created, and for \u201cPosts page,\u201d select the blog page you just created. Click on it to start editing and adding blocks. You can add a block by clicking the black plus sign. If you imported demo content, you should have all the demo homepages as well. Start editing one by clicking on the name of the page.
